World surfing champion Mick Fanning is looking to get his title defense back on track at the world tour event being held in Fiji. The current world number five easily won his round one heat, notching up the second-highest score of the day. Eight-time world champion and current ratings leader Kelly Slater took top honours, scoring more than 19 out of a possible 20. Byron Bay's Kieran Perrow, Old Bar's Ben Dunn and Port Macquarie's Michael Campbell all won their first round heats in perfect two-metre waves yesterday.
